Lashonda Warner, 27, faces two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — car and knife — and leaving the scene of an accident after causing personal injury, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said. A judge ordered her held on a $5,000 bond, and she's required to have no contained with the victim, which probably won't be very hard for her.

Police said they were called to Manchester Street in Mattapan around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, after witnesses reported a car driving into a man. When officers arrived, they found the man bleeding on the ground with a stab wound to his stomach.

A witness told investigators that a silver Honda Accord made a three-point turn in the middle of the road, hitting two cars in the process, before it crashed into the man and sped off, the prosecutor said. Officers followed a trail of blood from the man to a blood-soaked pink folding knife nearby.

Responders rushed the man to Boston Medical Center, where he's in critical condition, the district attorney's office said.

State troopers pulled over a Honda Accord on I-93 North near exit 15B with blood on the front grill and Warner behind the wheel, the prosecutor said. She later admitted to Boston police that she had stabbed the man and run him over with her car after he confessed to being unfaithful, authorities said.

“The actions people take when they receive unwelcome news can make a bad situation much worse for everyone involved, as is the case here," District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. "This woman’s actions have had a dramatic impact on her life and the victim’s."
